David Tattam is the Chief Research & Content Officer and co-founder of the Protecht Group. David's vision is to redefine the way the world thinks about risk and to develop risk management to its rightful place as being a key driver of value creation in each of Protecht's customers.

David is the driving force in taking Protecht's risk thinking to the frontiers of what is possible in risk management and to support the uplift of people risk capability through training and content.

Prior to Protecht, David was the Chief Risk Officer and Head of Operations for the Australian operations of two global banks. He started his career as a Chartered Accountant and Auditor with Grant Thornton and PwC. He is also the author of A Short Guide to Operational Risk.

David is an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and New Zealand and a Senior Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australia. He is passionate about risk and risk management and in reaping the value that risk and good risk management can create for any business willing to embrace it.

Catherine Smith is a professional trainer with over 15 years’ experience in the public, private and for-purpose sectors in the UK and Australia. She holds a BA (Hons) Degree in English Literature and History from the University of Sheffield, UK and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) from Canterbury Christ Church University, UK.

Catherine has expertise and interest in educational technology and online learning and holds professional membership with the Australian Institute of Training and Development (AITD).

Catherine joined the Protecht Team in November 2017 and is our Senior Customer Engagement & Training Manager, developing and delivering in person and online training and engagement activities for our customers worldwide.

Michael Howell is the Protecht Group’s Research and Content Lead. He is passionate about the field of risk management and related disciplines, with a focus on helping organisations succeed using a ‘decisions eyes wide open’ approach.

Michael is a Certified Practicing Risk Manager whose curiosity drives his approach to challenge the status quo and look for innovative solutions. Michael harnesses that curiosity in pursuit of risk knowledge, conducting research and developing content to support and advance risk methodology and product design at Protecht.

Michael’s industry experience includes managing risk functions, assurance programs, policy management, corporate insurance, and compliance. 

Martina Sunderland is Protecht's Senior ERM Adviser. She has more than 15 years' experience  working with quality management systems including auditing and risk. Her ability to clarify and simplify the processes around Protecht.ERM empowers our customers and their teams, resulting in an easy-to-use system and a system that will get used.

Martina has a law degree, is a Certified Practising Risk Manager and a registered Lead Auditor. She has a solid track record of using advanced research, analysis, strategic planning and negotiation skills to successfully develop business initiatives whilst maximising profit, minimising cost and driving continuous change. 

Matt brings over two decades of expertise in Business Intelligence, specialising in GRC, Finance and Cyber Security.

Leading Protecht's Analytics activities across EMEA, he oversees development, training, and consulting services, ensuring top-tier delivery and client satisfaction.

Matt established and chairs our customer analytics super user group and maintains an active interest in generative AI technologies and emerging regulatory frameworks.

Matt holds a B.Sc. in Mathematics and M.Sc. Information Security.

Mitchell Carratt is Senior Business Intelligence Consultant at Protecht, with over six years' experience of business intelligence and analytics using Protecht.ERM. Previously he has held various technical consultancy and development roles in software development and industry.

Mitchell has a Bachelor's of Internet Science and Technology from the University of Wollongong.

Sean Mitchell is a Senior ERM Advisor at Protecht Group with many years' experience of utilising Protecht ERM. He holds the unique perspective of previously being an System Administrator and using that experience to improve current customers' experience. 

Sean is passionate about risk management, optimising processes, as well as data collection and utilisation via Protecht ERM.

Tasmiha Salam is an ERM Implementation Advisor at Protecht, with several years’ experience in implementing Risk and Compliance Management software across multiple various industries, as well as extensive experience in client management and engagement.

 Tasmiha has a passion for learning and implementing software. She holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science and Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) and an MBA in Management Information Systems.

Miz is a seasoned risk analytics professional with extensive experience in data visualization and business intelligence tools.

With a background in building analytics solutions for major financial services clients throughout his career, Miz also excels in training customers and is proficient across various technical disciplines.

Solutions-focused and passionate about leveraging data to drive informed decisions, Miz continues to develop the field of risk analytics. He holds a BSc in Mathematics.
