Our Story

Our founders, David Tattam and David Bergmark, met whilst working at PriceWaterHouseCoopers in Sydney, Australia in the mid 1990’s. During this period and later, after heading up risk departments for leading international banks and finance companies, they saw how unsophisticated risk systems and processes were. There had to be a better way...

It was in 2000 that they decided they could be the change that the sector so desperately needed and began innovating their own solutions to meet their clients’ challenges - through training, advisory and software development in risk. Protecht, the combination of ‘protect’ and ‘technology’ evolved.

With backgrounds in finance, accounting and audit, David Tattam’s passion led him to focus on risk and training while David Bergmark focused on his passion for using technology to deliver innovative risk management solutions.

Now after over 20 years of redefining the way the world thinks about risk, Protecht has developed software products across Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and Asset and Liability Management (ALM), supported by Training, Consulting and Advisory.

David Bergmark, as CEO, champions the software and advisory, while David Tattam, as spokesperson for the company, leads methodology development, training and spreading the word of risk management.
